Give anyone a name of your own, from their profile. Only you see it, and it follows you to all your devices and notifications. Pictures, videos and GIFs fly smoothly between the chat and the viewer, and a picture stays full size while you pull it away. Save all keeps every photo and video of a message when it has more than one. The photo preview has the caption across the screen, with edit, quality and Send below it, and the editor's tools are clearer. Notifications, pop-up menus, the reaction row, date labels and the viewer's controls are glass. Sign in with Google or Apple, or connect them to your account in Settings. If your email already has a Koti account, enter its password once to link them. Read ticks in direct messages and groups: one tick when sent, two when read. A switch in Privacy hides them. Forward messages to several chats at once. Pin chats and drag them into order, mute them for a while or for good, mark them unread, clear or delete them. Delete messages for yourself or for everyone, several at a time. Chats are rebuilt around your thumb: tap a message for its menu and reactions, hold to select, drag to select a run, swipe left to reply and right to go back. The attach sheet has more room, filters for photos, videos and GIFs, and your albums. Hold Send to send as files, with a spoiler or in high quality. Send as many files as you like; past ten they go as several messages, in order. The media viewer goes through all of a chat's pictures and videos. Who is typing shows in the chat list, and each chat keeps its own draft.

Koti is new on the App Store, and this is its first update. • Drag channels and servers into your own order: long-press one and move it. Your server order follows you to every device. • Sign in with your verified email address as well as your username. • The Koti server is the first server in Discover, marked Official and open to everyone; new accounts no longer join it on their own. • A call going on in a direct message or group you are not in shows a “Call in progress” bar with Join, or Switch here when you are in it on another device. • The call screen is reworked: a tap on the picture hides the header and controls, landscape keeps the controls at the bottom with people beside the picture, and a watched share can be turned to landscape from its corner. • A call joined right after opening the app has sound from the start. • When someone’s voice cuts out on a weak connection or over Bluetooth headphones, it fades out and back in instead of clicking, and Koti keeps a little more in reserve so fewer words drop or repeat. • A shared screen watched on the same home network plays with much less delay. • A shared screen your phone cannot play at full quality switches to lower quality by itself and says why; one that keeps freezing on your connection does the same. • A server update no longer interrupts a share you are watching, and after a slow server restart the shares you were watching come back by themselves. • A voice channel’s member list shows display names even when you are not in the call. • When the server no longer accepts this version and no newer one is out yet, Koti says so and checks again every minute. • The picture on a notification is the Koti cat on its own. • Koti is for people aged 16 and over: sign-up asks you to confirm it.
