Campfire is a songbook for the songs you play: your chords and lyrics, laid out to be read while your hands are busy with an instrument.
Chords sit right above the syllables they belong to. Verses and choruses flow into as many columns as the screen allows, so a song needs as little scrolling as possible, and the text can be as large as you need it.
Campfire doesn't come with songs of its own. It is a home for yours. Write them in the built-in editor, or bring the ones you already have: Campfire reads ChordPro, the plain-text format most chord tools understand.
Reading
• Adjustable text size and a multi-column layout that makes the most of any screen, from a phone to a desktop monitor
• Lyrics-only mode for the people in the room who only sing
• Performance mode keeps everything that could change your library out of the way while you play
• Arrow-key control, which is what Bluetooth page-turner pedals send, so you can scroll a song and step through a setlist without taking your hands off the instrument
Transposing
• Transpose a semitone at a time, or pick a key and let Campfire choose sharps or flats
• Read chords with sharps, flats or in German notation (H)
• Every song remembers its key, and every setlist remembers its own key for each song in it
Writing and editing
• ChordPro editor with syntax highlighting and a live preview
• Nothing is written until you save, and Campfire asks before unsaved changes are lost
Organizing
• Setlists keep songs in the order you will play them. Archive a setlist after the gig instead of deleting it
• Filter the library by tags and languages. Both are stored in the song files themselves, so they come along wherever the files go
Import, export and sync
• Import .cho, .chopro, .chordpro, .crd, .chord, .pro and .txt files, or whole .zip archives of them
• Open a ChordPro file straight from your files, an email or a download
• Export a song, a setlist or the whole library as a zip of plain text files that any ChordPro tool can read
• Optional sync between your devices through your own Dropbox. It stays off until you turn it on
Make it yours
• Light and dark themes in eight color schemes
• English and Hungarian, switchable inside the app
Your songs are yours
Your library is a folder of ordinary text files on your device. Campfire works offline, needs no account and collects no data at all: no analytics, no tracking, no ads. The only time it goes online is to sync, and then it connects directly to your own Dropbox with no other server in between. You can export everything at any time, so leaving is as easy as arriving.
