Swellbell is the forecast app for surfers, kitesurfers, windsurfers and foilers who just want to know: is it on? ONE CALL PER SPOT Every spot gets a verdict for each sport you ride: Firing, Good, Worth a look, Kinda or Nope. It's scored using the spot's orientation, so an offshore wind is a no for kites. You also get the best window to be on the water. RING THE BELL FOR YOUR CREW Out at the spot and it's on? Ring the bell. Your crew gets a ding with the conditions, and you hear when they're stoked. Or ring it for everyone who saved the spot. Ring the most and claim the crown on Biggest Bell. A DING THE NIGHT BEFORE Pick your spots and your bar. The evening before it lines up, Swellbell pushes you (or emails you) the call. Early enough to move a meeting, wax the board and set an alarm. THE NUMBERS YOU RIDE BY Hour by hour wind and gusts, surf height and period, tide highs and lows, and a seven day outlook. One tap for directions to the beach. iPhone Duo ready: open it up for all your spots on one side and the whole day on the other, and every screen uses the full width when it's folded. Sharper forecasts: we checked our wind and surf calls against ocean buoys and tuned the model, including local wind swell, long period swell and sheltered spots. Hour by hour is now a compact table, with the tide lined up on the same hours. Clearer colours: each colour means one thing, with a legend to explain it. Plus lots of polish.
