ThereKit: Offline Travel
Translate, prices, local time
Free
Land in a new country with prices, units, local time, and translation ready to use. Translate works offline after a one-time download. No account. No ads.
You just landed. The menu is in another language. The price looks huge. Home is twelve hours away.
ThereKit is a free survival kit for travelers and digital nomads, especially people from the United States heading somewhere new. Understand a price, translate a sentence, show a useful phrase, and check the time — even when the plane Wi-Fi is gone.
UNDERSTAND THE PRICE
Convert 29 currencies with saved reference rates. Compare food prices per 1,000 grams, pound, ounce, or 100 grams in the money you actually think in. Enter the rate your booth or bank just quoted.
THINK IN YOUR OWN UNITS
Convert temperature, distance, weight, volume, speed, and running pace on one page: °C and °F, kilometers and miles, kilograms and pounds, and more.
TRANSLATE WHAT YOU TYPE
Type or paste text and translate between English and 12 languages, in any pair. Translation runs on your device, and your text stays there. After a one-time download, it works offline. Play the result aloud or copy it.
SHOW OR PLAY A PHRASE
The phrase guide in Translate has 100 travel phrases per language for basics, dining, transport, shopping, numbers, and getting help, each with audio. Show a phrase in large text to the person in front of you.
Twelve languages: Indonesian, Malay, Thai, Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Latin American Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese.
KEEP TRACK OF TIME
Compare home, destination, and more places. Search thousands of cities offline. Pick a meeting time and see what it means in every place, including date changes and daylight-saving differences.
VISITING THE UNITED STATES?
ThereKit works in that direction too. Turn dollars, °F, miles, pounds, and ounces into the money and units you know.
WORKS OFFLINE
Money, units, time, and the phrase guide work offline from the first launch. Translate works offline after you download its languages: Apple's system languages on iOS 18 or later, or an optional 1.3 GB on-device model for Malay and for iOS 17, on devices with enough memory. No account. No ads. No subscription.
Saved rates remain available offline, with their dates shown. A connection is needed only to refresh rates and to download translation languages or the translation model. Reference rates can differ from the rate you pay. Translations come from on-device models and can be wrong. Phrase content is a travel aid and is not an emergency service.
