9x9 block puzzle. Gold turns up in the dirt, clearing a line banks it, and banked gold buys rotations, undos and new hands. A robber will steal whatever you leave behind!
A block puzzle with a gold mine under it!
Three shapes at a time. Drag one onto the 9x9 grid. Fill a row, fill a column, or fill one of the nine 3x3 boxes, and those nine squares clear. Put down a piece that finishes a row and a box at the same time and eighteen squares go at once!
Nothing drops on you. No timer. The board only changes when you put a piece down, so think about it as long as you like.
Now the gold.
Shovels appear on empty squares while you play. Cover one and a pile of ingots lands on that square. Clear the line that pile is sitting in and the ingots fly across the screen into the safe in the corner. A pile caught in an ordinary clear pays 3 ingots. Clear that same line in one colour and it pays 9!
Do something big and the game shouts about it. SOLID VEIN! JACKPOT! THE VAULT SINGS!
Then there is the robber.
Striped shirt, black beanie, sack over one shoulder. Leave a pile sitting for about five moves and he walks on from the edge of the board and heads straight for it. He keeps walking while you sit there thinking! Clear the line before he arrives and he stops dead, bursts into tears and vanishes in a puff of dust. Let him get there and he picks up your gold and carries it off.
The better you are doing, the sooner he sets out and the faster he moves.
And once your safe passes 50 ingots he stops bothering with piles altogether. He comes for the safe, and he takes 25 of them.
So sell! Tap the safe and ingots turn into points. The first 10 pay 2 points each, the next 10 pay 3, and everything after that pays 4, so one big sale is worth far more than ten small ones. Which means hoarding pays. And a full safe is exactly what sends him after it!
Every ingot you keep is also a tool.
1 turns a piece that will not fit.
1 takes back the move you just made.
3 rubs out any single square on the board.
5 throws all three shapes away and deals you new ones.
Spend carelessly and you will hit a board you could have solved if you had kept one coin back. Which is how this ends, by the way. Not when there is no move left. When there is no move you can afford!
One board size. One best score. Everybody is playing the same 9x9 you are.
