Dots is the classic pen-and-paper dots game, now on your phone. Place dots on the grid, close a chain around your opponent’s dots and capture them. The rules take a minute to learn; the strategy keeps you coming back. HOW TO PLAY • Players take turns placing a dot on a line intersection. • Neighbouring dots of the same colour link horizontally, vertically and diagonally into a chain. • Close a chain around your opponent’s dots: the area is filled in and those dots count for you. • Whoever captures more dots wins. THREE WAYS TO PLAY • Against the computer — three difficulty levels, from a relaxed game to a real challenge. • With a friend nearby — pass the device back and forth and play on one screen. • Online — create a game and send a friend the code, a link or a QR code. AND MORE • Three board sizes, from quick games to long battles. • Pinch to zoom and drag to move around the board. • An unfinished game is saved automatically. • Play without internet against the computer and with a friend nearby. • No sign-up, no ads. • 12 languages.

Needs a colorblind mode

Seems like an enjoyable game but currently unplayable for me. Being colorblind (1 in 10 males are) the 2 colors, especially when so close together are indistinguishable. Just a bunch of dark dots is all I can see. A mode where there’s more contrast between the 2 colors would be great. Maybe solid black and a light grey. Or even one player has a small triangle and the other is the current circle dot. I look forward to an accessibility update so I can actually play.

Improved computer opponents: smarter captures, better defense, and more planning ahead. The three difficulty levels now offer more distinct challenges.
