HOW IT WORKS • Tap play, hear one word, choose which of two words you heard. • Instant feedback. Got it wrong? Replay both words back to back. • Three natural US voices so you learn the sound, not one speaker. • A 20-word session takes about a minute. BUILT ON HOW ENGLISH SOUNDS • Minimal pairs: words that differ by exactly one sound, commonly used in pronunciation training. • IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) for every word. • 38 challenging sound pairs across 800+ word pairs: ship/sheep, bat/bet, think/sink, light/right, vest/west, pen/pain, cap/cup, plus final consonants like bag/back and cap/cab. • After every answer, both words show their IPA with the sound that differs highlighted, so you learn the symbols as you go. SEE REAL PROGRESS • Ear Score: the % of words you hear correctly, based on your recent answers across all sound pairs, updated after every session. • Adaptive practice focuses on the sound pairs you miss most. Fixes: sign-in messages now say what went wrong, layouts hold at the largest text sizes, and sound effects recover if iOS pauses them mid-session.
