Red, Green and Blue. That's all you need — and all you get.
RGB Invaders is a fast, colourful arcade game about mixing light. Pixel invaders in seven colours rain down from the top of the screen. Fire an expanding ring of colour to destroy them — but a ring only hits an invader of its own colour. Everything else it passes straight through.
MIX YOUR SHOTS
Tap Red, Green or Blue to fire that colour. Press buttons together to mix:
• Red + Green = Yellow
• Green + Blue = Cyan
• Red + Blue = Magenta
• Red + Green + Blue = White
Only one ring can be on screen at a time, so every shot counts. Pick the wrong colour and you waste precious seconds while the invaders keep coming.
BOSS FIGHTS
Clear a wave and a huge boss invader descends, striped with eight coloured bands — every colour, plus one extra, in a random order.
• Only the colour of its lowest band can hurt it. Hit it and that band is blasted away, exposing the next one up.
• Fire the wrong colour and the boss lurches down a row, closer to the ground.
• Strip away all eight bands for a bonus and the next wave begins.
• Every boss comes down a little faster than the last.
Read the stripes, chain the right chords, and keep your nerve.
TURBO MODE
Destroy five invaders of the same colour in a row and TURBO lights up.
• A streak counter under your score shows how close you are.
• Hit another colour and a new streak begins. A ring that hits nothing breaks it.
• In turbo, chain five more in a row, in any one colour, and the whole screen explodes: every invader is destroyed and scored, plus a 25-point bonus.
• Finish that streak on a boss's lowest band and the entire boss goes down with it.
Hold your fire, pick your targets, and let the chain build.
WAVES THAT BUILD
Each wave of 25 invaders speeds up as it goes. The next wave starts calm again — but the invaders arrive in pairs, then threes, fours and fives. Survive long enough and every wave starts faster than the one before.
SCORE BIG
Primary colours are worth 1 point, mixed colours 2, and white 3. Beating a boss or clearing the screen in turbo adds a bonus on top. If a single invader — or the boss — reaches the bottom, it's game over.
