Study without rating yourself. Slide the answer up, or open iPhone Duo, and stop as soon as you know it. How much you peeked decides when the card comes back.
When you know the answer, tap I know it. The whole answer then shows, so you can check yourself. If you were wrong, tap I was wrong. Either way, RectoVerso keeps how much of the answer you revealed, and that decides when the card comes back. The less you peek, the later it comes back. There is no Again, Hard, Good or Easy to choose: you never rate how hard a card was.
KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW
What you revealed can be letters, the terms of a formula, lines of code or part of a picture. FSRS-6, the open scheduler Anki also uses, turns that measure into the card’s next date, bringing it back when your chance of recalling it falls to 90%, or the target you set. A card you keep revealing most of is marked fragile, and RectoVerso offers to split it or rewrite it. When you just want to go over a deck, Practice tests every card and leaves the schedule as it was.
EVERYTHING YOU ALREADY STUDY
• Bring your Anki decks with their pictures, sounds and schedule. Math and chemistry, code, Japanese with furigana, Chinese with tone colors, tables and image occlusion all come across.
• Write your own cards: a front, a back, and a hint, an example or a picture if you like.
• Share a web page, a PDF, a Word or PowerPoint file, or your notes, in English. Apple Intelligence writes cards from them on your iPhone, and you check every card before it joins a deck.
• Send any deck back to Anki, with its history.
A DELIGHT TO USE
Soft haptics and quiet tones follow the reveal. Cloze answers fly into their blanks, and on a labeled diagram each hidden label is uncovered in turn. Widgets show what’s due. Ask Siri to start your review, or build it into a Shortcut. VoiceOver reads every card, and code line by line.
ON IPHONE DUO
Closed, the card’s front fills the outer display. Open the phone, and the back unfolds beside it. Close it after answering, and the next card is ready. Stand it in tabletop: the front above the fold, the back below.
YOURS, AND ONLY YOURS
Pay once. No subscription, no in-app purchase. No account. No tracking. Your decks stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud backup. RectoVerso sends nothing anywhere.

RectoVerso in French, and a figure’s labels answered one by one.
• On an iPhone set to French, RectoVerso speaks it: the collection, the review and its buttons, the lessons, the sample deck, Siri, the widgets. A card’s own words stay as their author wrote them.
• A figure with several labels asks them one at a time. Tap the label you’re guessing, then pull the answer up (or open iPhone Duo): I know it checks that label alone, and Next label goes on. The card is graded once, after the last.
• The introduction teaches it, with a figure of three labels. • Undo takes back one label at a time.
• A new figure shows every label uncovered, as any new card shows its whole answer.
• Writing or editing a card, a tap on a page’s paper puts the cursor in its field.
• On iPhone Duo open and upright, Stats shows its chart beside the summary.
• A deck imported again keeps each card once.
• An Anki front script that hides something else no longer blanks the answer.
• A figure’s labels are read even when text recognition stumbles, and on a flipped photo its masks and captions sit on their words.
• When Apple Intelligence isn’t ready yet, the app says so, and Make up to 20 cards waits until it is.
