Leser shows PDFs, fast and without clutter: outline, bookmarks, search, split view. Free, ad-free, no data collection. Made for reading. Leser is a PDF viewer for the Mac, made for reading: tidy, fast and free of distractions. No sign-in, no ads. Reading and navigating • Outline and page thumbnails in the sidebar, switched with a single click • Bookmarks for places you want to come back to • Preview when pointing at a link; page references such as “see page 12” become links too • References to other documents open the document at the page given • Turn pages with the arrow keys, jump to a page number as printed in the book, go back and forward after a jump, also with the side buttons of a mouse • Continuous, single page, two pages, or two pages with the first page alone • Zoom in steps or fit to page width, page height or the whole page Searching • Full-text search with every match in a sidebar of its own on the right, with a snippet of text and the page number • All matches highlighted in the document, jump from match to match Two places at once • Split view side by side or stacked • Each half keeps its own position, zoom and page layout • The second half can also show a different document Pleasant every day • Remembers the place you last read and the window size • Reloads a document by itself when another program changes the file, after an export or when a LaTeX document is typeset • Copied text arrives in paragraphs, with bold and italic • Copy or save pictures from the document, in full resolution and with their transparent background • Copy an area of the page as a picture, move large pages by hand • Print at actual size or fitted to the paper • Sepia tone for long reading • View document information, manual right in the app • Password-protected PDFs ask for the password when opened Honest and open • Free and open source under the Apache License 2.0 • No ads, no tracking, no analytics • Leser itself never connects to the internet; only the voluntary tip goes through the App Store. Improved in version 1.1.2 • An accent colour of its own: with the accent colour “Multicolour” in System Settings, buttons, switches, and selections appear in Leser's red Fixed • In sepia, text is sharp again; the warm tone stays • If macOS does not let Leser become the default app for PDFs, Leser now gives the reason and the way through the Finder
