Mestre de Bateria
Conduct the samba drum section
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Two hundred drummers are watching your hands. Whistle the chamada, call the bossa, freeze the avenue with a paradinha and make the jury read 10.0 four times.
You don't play the drums. You conduct them.
Mestre de Bateria puts you in front of the 200-piece drum section of G.R.E.S. Unidos do Farol, a fictional Rio samba school, on parade night at the Sambódromo. The parade clock is running, the stands are singing the samba-enredo, and every wing of the section (surdos, caixas, repiques, tamborins, agogôs and chocalhos) plays what your hands tell it to play.
CONDUCT WITH HAND SIGNS
Signs scroll toward your whistle line one bar ahead of the moment. Tap for the chamada, swipe up for the bossa, swipe down for the three-hit breque, press and hold to freeze all 200 drummers in a paradinha and let go exactly on the volta. When the tempo drifts, push the section on or pull it back. On the big nights, point at a single wing and give it a solo.
THE SECTION PLAYS WHAT YOU SIGNAL
The drums are sequenced live from real surdo, caixa, repique, tamborim, agogô and chocalho recordings. Land a paradinha and the avenue really goes quiet while the stands carry the chorus. Miss a sign and you hear the section stumble: the caixas drift off the surdos and the drummers on screen fall out of step.
JUDGED LIKE THE REAL THING
Four jury booths wait along the avenue. Each one hands your bateria a note from 8.0 to 10.0. The lowest note is thrown out, just like on Ash Wednesday, and your total is read against eleven rival schools, each with its own bateria and mestre. Chase the perfect 30.0 and the title.
BETWEEN PARADES
• The rehearsal court: seven nights of lessons with the old mestre and the wing directors, drawn as comic strips. Pass each rehearsal to add that break to your parades and to open the Série Ouro and the Grupo Especial.
• The repertoire: 20 original samba-enredos of the school from 1979 to 2026, each with its story, composers, chorus, tempo and song form. Search by title, year, composer or a word from the chorus, and pin favorites.
• Wings and costumes: meet each wing's director, hear the exact pattern every wing plays, and dress the whole section in ten costumes earned through rank and trophies.
• Mestre card: take a portrait with the camera or pick one from your photos. It is inked into a halftone comic panel and printed on your results poster.
COME BACK TONIGHT
A new daily parade rolls in every midnight with its own twist, such as rain on the track, double paradinhas, a nervous tempo or a longer avenue. Keep your streak burning, climb ten mestre ranks and fill a trophy cabinet of 19 awards.
MADE FOR PLAYERS
Three hand-inked color themes with paper and night looks. Haptics on every sign. Next-sign hints. Assisted conducting for players who find the gestures hard. Everything works offline, and nothing leaves your device.
All schools, mestres, composers and samba-enredos in the game are fictional.
