Show people how to support you
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Write down how people can best communicate with you and support you, in your own words. Show it in two taps, or hand over a printed card.
Help other people understand how to communicate with you, and how to support you.
Write it down once, in your own words. Then show it to a nurse, a new support worker, a bus driver or a receptionist in two taps — or hand them a printed card.
IN YOUR OWN WORDS
Passport offers sections to write against — how I communicate, give me time, things that help, things that make it harder, sensory needs, mobility and access, what I do myself, what I want help with, important information — each with a question to answer, never with words put in your mouth. Keep the ones you want, add your own, and leave the rest empty: an empty section is never shown to anyone.
Every field has a microphone button, so you can say what you want to write. Recognition happens on the device.
A VIEW FOR EACH SITUATION
The same Passport shows differently for different people. Talking with me, In hospital, Travelling, Emergency and Everything are ready to use, and you can make your own. You choose which sections and which lines each one shows.
Emergency shows nothing until you place each line in it yourself.
SHOW IT, OR HAND IT OVER
Open Passport and the views are right there. Tap one and it fills the screen, large and clear and following your contrast setting, one section at a time, with the screen kept bright and awake. The person reading gets no buttons to edit, share, or wander into the rest of the app — only the pages, and a button to have it read aloud. To close it, you hold the close button until its circle fills, so a tap by someone else does not end it. You can make it a single tap, and choose how long the hold is, in Settings.
Long-press the Passport icon to open any view straight away, or have Passport open straight into one.
ON PAPER
A phone can be flat, locked, or in someone else's hand. Print a wallet-sized card to cut out and fold, or a full A4 or Letter sheet, from the same view the screen shows. The card can carry a small QR code with the essentials as plain text, if they fit. Before anything is printed or shared as a PDF, Passport tells you exactly what it contains.
YOURS, AND PRIVATE
No account, no sign-in, no analytics, and nothing is sent to us. Your Passport lives on your device. Keep it in your own iCloud if you want it on your other devices, and invite someone who helps you — a family member, a support worker — to update it. You choose, per person, whether their changes apply straight away or wait for you to accept them.
Save a complete copy as a file for backup or to move to a new device, and open it again with a preview before anything is replaced.
Available in English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish. Works with VoiceOver and Dynamic Type, in light and dark.
Passport supplements iOS Medical ID and does not replace it: Passport cannot show anything while your phone is locked. Passport is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or monitor anything.
