Take the stern of a real RGR raft and call your crew through Sunshine, Grateful Dead and Sledgehammer on the Arkansas River. You are the raft guide. Sit at the stern of a yellow Royal Gorge Rafting boat, steer with your paddle, and call the commands that get your crew through the Class IV whitewater of Colorado's Royal Gorge. Built by Royal Gorge Rafting from the real place: the canyon is shaped from USGS lidar of the gorge, the river sounds are recorded from our own trips, and the rapids follow the lines our guides run every season. RUN THE REAL RAPIDS Sunshine, Grateful Dead, Sledgehammer and Hey Diddle Diddle, in their real order on the Arkansas River. Read the tongue, dodge the holes, and punch the wave trains. CALL THE CREW All forward, all back, left back, right back, all stop, high side, get down. Your crew paddles on your call, and like real guests they react a beat late, miss strokes, and get tired. Call a rest in the calm water. YOUR RIVER, YOUR DIFFICULTY Pick the river level, the size of your crew and how strong they are. Earn stars on every rapid, climb from Trainee to Trip Leader, and chase high scores on Game Center. A GUIDE IN YOUR EAR Your guide yells the calls over the roar, with a how-to-play intro on the flat water before the first rapid. Want the real thing? Book a trip through the Royal Gorge with Royal Gorge Rafting in Canon City, Colorado.
