File Stacker turns the folders you choose into interactive storage views, helping you explore large files and make informed cleanup decisions. EXPLORE YOUR STORAGE Switch between Treemap, Sunburst, Table, and Overview. Drill into folders, inspect file sizes, and search and filter the scanned results. Find large and old files without sorting through every folder yourself. REVIEW BEFORE REMOVING Compare duplicate files and choose which copy to keep. Review cleanup candidates and use the Collector to gather items before confirming a move to Trash. Protect folders from removal or exclude them from scans. File Stacker never empties the Trash or permanently deletes files. KEEP TRACK OF CHANGES Compare saved scan summaries in History & Trends. Export CSV or JSON reports to a location you choose. Optional scheduled scans and a menu bar display work while the app is running. WORK WITH THE ACCESS YOU CHOOSE File Stacker is sandboxed and reads the folders you grant through the macOS folder picker. It has no direct network access, accounts, ads, or third-party analytics. Folder grants, preferences, scan summaries, and removal history are stored locally. KNOW WHAT THE NUMBERS MEAN Files in Trash continue to occupy disk space until you empty it in Finder. Duplicate removal estimates are upper bounds: APFS clones, hard links, compression, and other filesystem behavior can affect the space actually recovered. Protected or unreadable locations are not presented as confidently empty. Requires macOS 14 or later. Built for Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
