Somewhere on this sea, on an island where nobody lives, a golden idol lies hidden. The map that leads to it has been torn into six pieces. You hold one. The other five are out there, and so are three captains who want them just as badly as you do. Pirats Treasure Race is a game of trade, naval combat and cunning on a living 3D sea. Buy low, sell high, take a job, sign a licence, strike a deal or open fire. There is more than one way to collect the pieces, and the only rule is that whoever gathers all six first, wins. SIX PIECES, MANY DIFFERENT WAYS Buy pieces from a mysterious traveller, dig for buried treasure, earn them from the trading companies, take them from a rival at the point of a cannon, or trade them across a table. Three copies of the same piece are only half a map. THREE RIVALS WHO PLAY BY YOUR RULES The other captains buy ships, take jobs, win the trust of the companies, bury their gold and fight, exactly like you. Each one keeps an opinion of you. Some will offer you a rendezvous. Not all of them wish you well. A LIVING SEA - Explore a chart hidden under fog. Sail from island to island, and watch merchant ships of four trading companies criss-cross the waves. - Trade goods between ports, hire crews at the tavern, take passengers, parcels and stranger jobs. - Buy a licence from a company and carry its cargoes. Each one has its own opinion of you, and they watch one another. - Build a fleet. A ship goes nowhere without a captain and a crew, and every sailor must be paid at every landfall. - Guard your name. Fame opens doors. But when nobody will sail with you again, you lose. REAL-TIME NAVAL COMBAT When the cannons speak, the chart fades and you go down onto the water. - Steer, trim your sails and fire full or half broadsides. - Choose your shot: round shot for hulls, chain shot for sails and masts, grape for the crew. - Every calibre has its own range, and every gun needs free hands to work it. - Board a prize, strike your colours or break off the action. Nothing is a foregone conclusion, and every defeat has its own epitaph. - Beware what lives below. Beasts of the deep, from the Reef Lurker to the Abyssal Leviathan, wait for those who sail too far. TREASURE, BURIED AND FOUND Dig on desert islands, and take your chances with the map sellers: empty holes are common, and dig three of them and you may lose everything. Bury your own gold where pirates cannot take it. And remember where you dug ! RELIVE YOUR BATTLES Save the film of any arcade fight and watch it again from any angle. Battle films are files you can share and open with a double-click. ARCADE MODE Want to skip the campaign? Set up a fight in the arcade and choose your ship, your guns and your opponent.
