Got a speech coming up? Build it from ready-made parts, rehearse with a prompter, record a run-through and see what to improve. No account; recordings stay on your phone. Public Speaker helps you compose a speech on any topic and practise it before you face your audience. You don't need training in rhetoric or experience on stage to give a presentation, speak at a conference or win decision-makers over to your idea. Build your speech outline from ready-made elements or templates, fill it with your ideas and arguments, rehearse it with the built-in recorder, then listen back and evaluate your performance. Public Speaker suggests what to work on next. COMPOSE • 32 ready-made speech elements, such as an anecdote, a quote, a rhetorical question, a pause or an appeal to authority. Each one comes with a description of when and how to use it. • Three templates for a quick start: a classical speech, an informative speech and Monroe's Motivated Sequence for motivational speeches. • Give each part your own title, a note with the keywords you want to remember and the emotion you want to convey. • The app adds up the time of every part as you go, so you can see whether your outline fits your time limit. • Share your speech outline by email or with any other app. PRACTISE • Four difficulty levels, from a prompter that shows your outline and plays a sound for each new part to a run where the clock is your only hint. • Random ambient sounds (a cough, a ringing phone, a slamming door) test whether anything can throw you off. You can finish with a round of applause. • Custom settings let you combine the challenges your own way. • Every run-through is recorded, so you can always come back to it. EVALUATE • Listen to your recording and mark when each part of the speech began. • Mark the moments that went great and the ones that need work, and add comments to them. • The evaluation report shows which parts were too short or too long, sums up your timing and suggests a difficulty level for your next run. • Practise with a friend or family member.
