Trovu Transcriber

Live captions at your pace

Free · In‑App Purchases

Read speech as live captions. Translate, replay, and summarize on your Mac. Try every feature for 14 days, then unlock once. No subscription or automatic charge. Stay with the conversation, at your pace. Trovu Transcriber turns microphone speech into large, readable text on your iPhone and iPad. Follow a lecture, review a conversation, or read translated captions alongside the original words. READ ALONG Live transcription uses Apple's on-device speech models. Choose your spoken language, then start listening. Focus mode puts the words first. Adjust fonts, text size, line spacing, timestamps, theme and accent color. If a call or alarm interrupts, the words so far are kept. TRANSLATE THE TEXT Switch between original transcription and translated captions. Keep the source text visible and change the language pair when needed. Supported languages may need an initial download. Translation is text only, not spoken interpretation. REPLAY AT YOUR PACE Keep the original recording, seek by timestamp, and play at 0.75× to 2× speed. Caption emphasis and scrolling follow the audio. OPTIONAL SPEAKER LABELS Download the local speaker model to distinguish up to four voices within a session. Labels can be uncertain, especially with noise or overlapping speech. They distinguish speakers rather than identify people by name. SAVE, FIND AND EXPORT Sessions are saved on your device. Rename them, add reusable tags, and search original and translated text. Export plain text or SRT subtitles, with optional speaker labels. Export audio as M4A or original CAF, separately or together with text. You control retention. OPTIONAL ICLOUD SYNC Turn on iCloud sync in Settings to keep your library on your iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud account. It is off until you turn it on. SUMMARIZE ON DEVICE Use Apple Intelligence to summarize the original transcript, then translate the summary and read both languages side by side. Optional spelling-only correction runs after Stop; original wording is retained for undo. These features require an Apple Intelligence–capable iPhone or iPad and supported languages. TRY IT, THEN UNLOCK ONCE Download free and activate a 14-day full-feature trial. Continue with a one-time Full Unlock purchase. No subscription and no automatic charge. Apple shows the current localized price before purchase. Restore using your Apple Account. Existing sessions remain readable, playable and exportable after expiry. LOCAL PROCESSING Audio and transcript content are not sent to a transcription service. Initial model downloads, purchases, optional iCloud sync and optional technical crash reporting use the network. Crash reporting is off unless you turn it on in Settings and never includes recording or transcript content. No Trovu account is needed. Requires iOS 27 or iPadOS 27 or later and microphone permission. Model and language availability vary. Recognition, speaker labels, translations and summaries can make mistakes; check important details against the recording. Trovu is a reading aid, not a medical assessment or treatment. Illustrated Help and Siri/Shortcuts actions are included.
