RTO: Rejected Takeoff Sim

A cockpit micro sim

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Decide whether to continue or reject takeoff. Use one lever for either engine, stop fuel and discharge fire agents. Review takeoff and cabin decisions. Free. Continue takeoff, or reject it? Read the instruments, make your decision, and follow it through. RTO is a small aviation simulation about rejected takeoff. Watch airspeed, both engines, alerts, and the remaining runway. Maintain thrust to continue, or return it to idle when you decide to stop. Thrust, brakes, and reverse. Set power with one vertical thrust lever, then release the parking brake to start the roll. During a high-speed rejection, the available RTO autobrake activates. For a low-speed rejection or an autobrake fault, hold BRAKE to slow down manually. Select reverse thrust from the engines that can provide it. Your inputs affect acceleration, deceleration, and stopping margin. Judge what you can see. A brief vibration may settle, or develop into thrust loss. Check changes in N1, EGT, oil pressure, vibration, and acceleration alongside the alerts. Flights can include engine fire, thrust loss, a cockpit bird strike, or a tower instruction to stop. Each flight varies. Runway surface, loading, runway length, V1, event timing, the affected side, and progression can change. Choose a practice scenario to explore a particular situation, or retry the same flight to compare decisions. Scenario selection weights - No fault: 10% - Manageable minor indications: 27.5% - Serious events before V1: 37.5% - Serious events after V1: 25% These are game settings used when a flight is generated. They are not real-world aircraft fault rates or percentages of play outcomes. Small samples may vary. Selected practice scenarios are excluded. After stopping, assess the cabin. Read the cabin crew report and choose to keep passengers seated or order evacuation. Stop fuel on both engines before ordering evacuation; select Both to stop them together. An earlier instruction is allowed but reviewed as a shutdown-order mistake. Known smoke lets you act without waiting for a full report or fire extinction. If you continue, maintain thrust for an initial climb of about five seconds. Pitch control is automatic. Respond to serious engine indications after the initial climb. Takeoff and rejection keep the shared lever. Only flights with serious engine indications remaining enter a short response window after a stable initial climb. Select Both, Left or Right above the lever, or tap an engine readout to select that side. Use the same lever to reduce its thrust. If serious indications remain at idle, tap to stop that engine's fuel. Maintain the other engine's thrust. Fuel stays off for this flight. For fire, the same button then becomes Fire agent. Two bottles are shared: 75% of game fires need one, 25% need two. Fuel stop alone does not extinguish fire. Review your decision and its result. Takeoff decision, engine response, and cabin instruction are assessed separately. A sound decision to continue does not count as a completed response when serious engine indications remain unattended. In 1.0.2, FLIGHT REVIEW opens with your decision speed against V1, the speed at which serious indications became visible, and the runway remaining at the stop. Serious indications that appeared after your stop decision are identified separately. Review your timing and reasons alongside the recorded inputs, then retry the same flight or move on to the next one. After a ground shutdown, both shafts and oil pressure decay. In flight, airflow can keep shafts windmilling. Engine sound follows rotation, with screen cues for muted play. Free, with no advertising or in-app purchases. Available in Japanese, American English, and British English. Aircraft performance, faults, and evaluation use a fictional game model. RTO is not for real-world operating procedures, performance calculations, or flight training. You control thrust, braking, cabin instructions after stopping, and a simplified engine response after the initial climb. Fuel stop and agent release are simplified. Airborne cabin procedures, turns, navigation, and landing are outside its scope.

RTO 1.0.2 keeps the takeoff decision controls and adds a short engine response after the initial climb. - Shortened the initial climb after positive climb from nine to five seconds, reaching normal reviews or engine response sooner. - Clarified the tower stop instruction when another aircraft is on the runway. - Only flights with serious engine indications remaining enter the response window. - Select Both, Left or Right above the same vertical thrust lever. Tapping an engine readout also selects that side; selection alone does not change thrust. - Bring one engine to idle, then tap to stop its fuel while maintaining the other engine's thrust. Fuel stays off for that flight. - After stopping fuel on the fire engine, tap the same button to discharge an agent. Two bottles are shared and used sequentially. Fuel stop alone does not extinguish fire. - After a ground stop, select Both to shut down both engines. Evacuation ordered before shutdown is recorded as a mistake. Fire extinction is not required to order evacuation. - Separate reviews show takeoff judgment, engine response, and cabin instruction, including incomplete responses and wrong-side actions. - Improved shutdown rotation, temperature, oil pressure and vibration. On the ground, both shafts coast to zero; in flight, windmilling follows airspeed. Stored heat cools gradually after combustion stops. - Review your decision speed against V1, when serious indications appeared, and the runway remaining at the stop. Later indications are identified separately. - Added scenario selection weights to the guide and description: no fault 10%, minor indications 27.5%, serious events before V1 37.5%, and serious events after V1 25%. These are game settings.
