Baghchal is the tiger and goat board game from Nepal, played by families there for generations. Four tigers hunt, twenty goats try to box them in. This version keeps it calm and clean, like ink on paper, so all you think about is the next move.
How to use it:
Tap Play vs computer, or Two players to share one device with a friend.
Choose your side: goats or tigers.
Pick an opponent, from Lamb to Master.
Goats place one piece per turn, and can only move once all 20 are on the board.
Tigers jump over a goat to capture it.
Come back each day for a fresh daily puzzle.
Features:
Four computer opponents
Lamb is still learning, Shepherd knows the basics, Hunter plans ahead and Master rarely forgives a mistake. Beat a level to open the next one.
Play as tigers or goats
Each side feels like a different game. Tigers look for a gap to jump through, goats work together to close every gap.
Two players on one device
Pass the device across the table and play a friend face to face.
Daily puzzle
A fresh puzzle every day, with one forced answer, such as trapping every tiger in 3 moves. Keep your daily streak going, get a hint after 2 tries, and copy your result to share with friends.
Undo and hints
Take back a move when you slip, and ask for up to 3 hints in a game.
English, Nepali and Hindi
Play the whole game in the language you feel most at home with.
Paper or night look
Choose a light paper theme, a dark night theme, or let it follow your device setting.
Sound and haptics
Soft sounds and a light buzz on each move. Turn either off in settings.
Plays offline
No internet.Your progress stays on your device.
The rules in short:
4 tigers start in the corners and 20 goats wait to enter.
Tigers win by capturing 5 goats.
Goats win when no tiger can move.
If the same position comes up 3 times, the game is a draw.
