New: your projects, patterns and yarn in one place, on iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud. Scan a ball band and the yarn is filled in. KnitBuddy keeps your knitting together: the projects on your needles, your patterns, the counters and the yarn in your stash. And it does the maths you would otherwise do with pencil and paper. PROJECTS A project holds its pattern, counters, notes, photos, yarn and needles. Tap Continue and the pattern opens on the page you left, with the counter at the bottom. Only a name is needed to begin. PATTERNS Add a PDF from Files or Mail, photos of a printed pattern, or scan the pages: the edges are found and the page is straightened. Put the pages in the order you knit them, sort your patterns into categories and find them again with search. COUNTERS Several counters per project — body, sleeves, repeats — each with a goal and a small buzz when you reach it. Count on your iPhone and iPad at the same time, and both rows count. The screen stays on while you knit. YARN STASH Keep the yarn you have at home. Take a photo of the ball band and the brand, grams, metres and needle size are filled in. Yarn set aside for projects is shown, and a finished project takes its yarn out of the stash. GAUGE SWATCH Write down each swatch: the needle, stitches and rows per 10 cm, washed or not, and a note. Compare it with the pattern's gauge in one tap. CALCULATORS • Even increases and decreases, in the round and back and forth — the row starts and ends with the same number of stitches. • Buttonholes spaced evenly along the band. • A pattern's stitches and rows at your own gauge. Tick off each line as you knit, and save a calculation to a project. TRY ALL OF IT FREE KnitBuddy is free to download.
