Learn the 500 words that make up about 80% of the Quran. Tap any word to see its root and grammar. Free, no ads, no account. Understand what you recite. Kalima teaches the meaning of the Quran word by word, starting with the words you will meet most often. LEARN THE WORDS THAT MATTER MOST The Quran has about 77,000 words, but a small vocabulary appears again and again. Kalima's Core Words course teaches the 500 most frequent dictionary words, ten at a time. Together they make up about 80% of the words in the Quran (counted by dictionary form). Each word is taught from a real ayah, practised, then brought back for review just before you'd forget it. A live coverage ring shows how much of the Quran you now recognise. SHORT LESSONS, AYAH BY AYAH Start with Al-Fatihah and the short surahs you pray with, then continue through the whole Quran. Read each ayah in Uthmani script, see every word with its transliteration and English meaning, then practise: • Meaning and meaning-to-Arabic questions • Listening: hear a word, pick its meaning • Roots: which three letters does this word grow from? • Noun, verb or particle? • Put the words of an ayah back in order TAP ANY WORD, SEE INSIDE IT Every word in the app opens a study sheet: its prefix, main word and suffix, each explained in plain English; its dictionary form and how often it appears; and its root with the family of words that share it. GRAMMAR FOR THE QURAN Nine short lessons cover what unlocks the most meaning: roots, “al-”, attached pronouns (my, your, his), prepositions, and/so/then, negation, past and present verbs, commands, and the doer and done-to patterns. Every example is a real word from the Quran. A ROOTS DICTIONARY Browse 1,651 roots and 4,820 words, search in Arabic or English, and jump to every place a word appears. THE FULL QURAN All 114 surahs with optional word-by-word mode, four text sizes and jump-to-ayah. Listen with a choice of seven reciters, adjustable speed, ayah repeat and follow-along highlighting, including in the background. GENTLE BY DESIGN • A daily goal in minutes, and no streak to lose • Spaced review capped at a friendly daily amount • English and Arabic interface, dark mode, iPhone and iPad FREE AND PRIVATE Every lesson is free. No ads, no account, no tracking. Progress stays on your device and in your private iCloud. Optional tips support the work and unlock nothing. SOURCES Quran text: Tanzil Project (Uthmani).
