Radio Mask is a live voice changer for your Mac, built like a vintage broadcast transmitter. Pick a channel, press Transmit and talk – your voice comes out as a ghost, a giant, a robot or an alien, in real time. Turn the knobs to make it your own, and use it as your microphone in Zoom and other call apps.

Good to know
• Using Radio Mask in call apps needs BlackHole, a free, open-source virtual audio driver by Existential Audio (not part of this app). Call Setup walks you through it.
• Turn off your call app's noise cancellation (in Zoom: "Original sound for musicians"), or it removes the effect and callers hear your normal voice.
• Not supported: iPhone calls placed from the Mac, and WhatsApp's Mac app – neither accepts a virtual microphone.
• Use headphones to avoid feedback.

• Hold to talk: hold ⌃⌥⌘Space in any app and your voice goes out; let go and you're muted.
• My Voices: save the knobs as your own voice and switch back to it any time (⌘S).
• Loop: your recording repeats while it plays, so you can fine-tune the knobs against the same words.
• Noise filter (on by default): removes steady background noise – fans, hiss, hum – from your mic, live and in recordings, like a call app's noise suppression.
• Noise gate (on by default): silences your mic between words, so room noise doesn't come through as a hum.
• Clearer voices in Zoom and other call apps: Ghost, Giant, Scary and Robot have a shorter echo, and while you're sending into a call, any echo you dial in is kept short, so the call app's noise filter no longer removes your voice.
• With Zoom open, the display reminds you of Zoom's "Original sound" setting, which keeps Zoom from filtering the effect.
• Fixed a crash: if audio can't start on your devices (for example, right after plugging in or switching headphones or a mic), Radio Mask tries again, and if it still can't, shows a message instead of quitting.
