Flickety Footy is Aussie rules goal kicking with one finger. There's no aiming line and no power bar. You get the flick, the wind and the big sticks.
ONE FINGER, ONE KICK
• The length of the flick is the power. A third of the screen is everything you've got: 65 metres.
• The lean is the aim. Straight up the screen is the middle of the goals, from anywhere on the ground.
• The bow is the bend. Keep it straight for a drop punt. Bow it like a banana and he turns side-on and snaps it round from the pocket.
• Past the 50, every kick is a torpedo, spiralling in with a whirlwind of vapour off the ball.
READ THE WIND
The wind is rolled fresh for every kick. Read the arrow, the gauge and the waves of light running over the grass, then start the ball upwind of where you want it to finish. Every spot is test-flown before you get it, so there's always a goal to be had, however hard it blows.
THE D.U.D.
Too close to call? It goes upstairs to the Digital Umpire Device. The big screen reads REVIEW PENDING, and the replay runs at a fifth of the speed and freezes on the daylight between leather and timber, measured to the centimetre. Then the call. Tap Share during a review and you get the replay as a GIF to send.
THE LAWS OF THE GAME
Goal 6, behind 1. Hit the post and it's a poster. Out on the full, wide or short is nothing. There's no crossbar, so a ball sailing high between the goal posts is still six.
CLIMB THE GROUNDS
• Normal: miss and you take it again, so every round you finish is a bag.
• Legend Mode opens on your first bag. One miss and the bag is gone.
• God Mode opens on your first Legend bag. Further out, wider, and winds up to 60 km/h.
• Impossible Mode opens on your first God bag. Ten kicks, each harder than the last, and every one harder than God.
• Streak Mode opens on your first bag too. Ordinary kicks until you miss one, with no restarts and no replays.
Miss on a harder ground and you can practise that exact shot, same spot and same wind, as many times as you like.
BUILD YOUR CLUB
Name your club, give the cheer squad a chant, and pick a jumper number, a design and four colours. Your kicker, the cheer squad behind the goals, about a third of the crowd and the confetti all wear them. Win a trophy and share it.
FEEL IT
On iPhone you feel the game as well as see it: the wind hums under your thumb, the kick thumps as you let go, and a post knocks back. Switch each one on or off in the pause menu.

No account, no sign-in and no shot clock. Your club and your record stay on your phone.
Flickety Footy is free to play, with the occasional ad from Google between rounds.
