THE RULES IN ONE BREATH
Fill the grid with filled and hollow pieces. Never three alike in a row. As many of each in every row and every column. No two rows the same, and no two columns.
TWO FORMS OF THE GAME
Classic, and with signs: = between two cells means the same piece, × means different pieces, as in the puzzle made popular in 2024. In Pareggio, the rule against identical rows applies to both forms.
ONE CHALLENGE A DAY
Every day a new grid, the same for everyone. 6×6 and Very easy on Monday, 12×12 and Expert on Sunday, with signs on Wednesday and Saturday. Share your time in one tap.
SIZE AND DIFFICULTY, SEPARATELY
Elsewhere, Easy means small and Expert means big. In Pareggio you choose the size (6×6 to 12×12, plus 14×14 on iPad) and, on its own, one of five levels. Every grid is rated by the hardest technique it truly requires, and the app names it: "Hard — requires Uniqueness". Every grid has a single solution, reached by logic alone: never a guess.
HINTS THAT TEACH
Stuck? Hints come in three steps: where to look, why (the technique), then the answer. If a piece is wrong, the hint says so first. Not keen on that lead? "Another hint" shows a different deduction. You learn the technique instead of being handed the answer.
