Speak a spectator's name. In about a minute the terminal talks its way to an address and a confidence rating. Then it tells them it was a trick. Be advised: Vector Broma is a magic trick. Every search step and figure the terminal reports is scripted for the performance. The app does not locate people and searches no database. SITUATION The operator holds the phone and does all of the speaking. The terminal asks for a name, a city, and a vehicle; the operator answers each one aloud, naming the spectator standing in front of them. The spectator watches and listens. They never touch the phone and never speak to it. One run takes about a minute. SEQUENCE OF EVENTS Steps 01 and 09 belong to the operator alone. The spectator sees 02 through 08. - 01 Set the difficulty. Before anyone is watching, the operator presses and holds Begin New Trace and selects how common the name will appear to be. This decides how long the search runs, how much the terminal says, and whether it stops to request the vehicle color. - 02 Terminal start. The operator holds the phone where the spectator can see it. The terminal boots and reports ready. - 03 Subject name. The terminal requests the full name of the subject. The operator states it aloud. - 04 City and vehicle. The terminal requests a city, then a vehicle. The operator answers each. - 05 Search. A globe resolves into a map. The terminal reports aloud which indexes it is querying and how many candidates it has dropped. - 06 Follow-up request. On a common name, the terminal halts and requests the color of the vehicle. - 07 Result. The map descends to street level. The terminal announces the subject's name, an address, and a confidence rating to everyone present. - 08 Reveal. A final screen informs the spectator that the act was a magic trick. - 09 Reset. The operator leaves the terminal and returns to the workbench. Nothing carries over. The next run regenerates every figure, so the same audience can be shown it twice without hearing the same numbers. EQUIPMENT Voice output. The terminal reads every step aloud through iOS speech synthesis. A Premium or Enhanced voice gives the delivery a natural human cadence. Voice input. The operator holds the button down, answers aloud, and releases it. Nothing requires typing, and the spectator never handles the device. Difficulty range. A rare name resolves in about thirty seconds. A common name runs for a minute. See step 01. Venue callout. On some runs the terminal also names the venue and gives a confidence rating. ARRANGEMENT The app opens on a workbench: the routine, the settings, and a notice setting out what the app does and does not do. The terminal is entered deliberately and left when the act is finished. PRE-DEPLOYMENT CHECKS Install a premium voice. The stock iOS voice sounds synthetic. In iOS Settings, search Voices and download a Premium or Enhanced English voice. Return to Vector Broma, open Configure Terminal, and press Refresh. Grant every permission before the performance. An open permission prompt stops the act mid-sentence. A data connection is required. Outdoors resolves better than a basement. CONDUCT The act is designed to unsettle, briefly. Select a spectator who will enjoy being fooled. Do not present the result as real information about any person. Tell them afterwards. The app handles this unless the operator switches it off.
