Yap is private voice dictation for your iPhone. Switch to the Yap keyboard in any app, tap the microphone and speak: Yap turns your speech into clean, punctuated text and types it right where you were writing. Speech recognition runs entirely on your iPhone, so your recordings never leave it.
DICTATE IN ANY APP
• Add the Yap keyboard once, then switch to it with the globe key in Messages, Mail, Notes, WhatsApp or any other app.
• Tap the microphone, speak, and tap the check mark to insert your words.
• A short walkthrough in the app shows every step of the setup.
• After you dictate, Yap keeps the microphone ready for a few minutes, so the next dictation starts at once. You choose how long in Settings.
FAST AND ACCURATE
• Modern on-device speech recognition, tuned for dictation.
• 25 languages, detected from each dictation, with no settings to change.
• Adds punctuation and capitals. In English, say "comma" or "new line" once you turn on spoken punctuation.
• Dictations up to five minutes.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Your audio is processed on your iPhone and never uploaded.
• Works offline after a one-time download of the speech model, about 800 MB.
• Your dictation history stays on your iPhone.

Start with a 14-day free trial, then choose monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the trial ends. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
