Coldwater County is an offroad truck simulator for people who care how a truck really works. Lock the diffs, drop into low range, air down to 15 psi and pick your line up slickrock, through bayou water and over snowbound ridges.
THE TRUCKS
• Six rigs: a midsize pickup, a V6 SUV, a short-wheelbase two-door 4x4, a 6x6 fire-and-rescue wrecker with a winch, a 1,025 hp quad-motor electric SUV, and one secret rig for drivers who take Gold on every trail.
• Fit front and rear lockers, a 2, 4 or 6 inch lift, 35 or 37 inch mud-terrain tires, a turbo or twin turbo, rock sliders, a skid plate, a winch bumper, an LED light bar and an extended fuel cell.
• 19 paint options, including iridescent color-shift finishes, plus rim colors.
• The build sheet shows what every part changes: diff and frame clearance, crawl ratio, tip angle, approach, departure and breakover angles, weight split. Bigger tires raise the diff. A lift kit doesn't.
THE DRIVING
• 2H, 4H and 4L low range, front and rear diff locks, sway bar disconnect, traction control and tire pressure, all switched out on the trail.
• A winch for when the line runs out.
• Grip changes under every tire: asphalt, gravel, dirt, grass, rock, sand, mud, snow and ice. Rain soaks dirt into mud.
• Weather and a day-night cycle: fog, rain, snow, dust, thunderstorms with lightning, and night runs on headlights.
• Engine sound built from real recordings, matched to RPM.
THE PLACES
• Coldwater County: an open-world hub with a Main Street town, highway traffic and signed roads out to the trailheads.
• 10 timed off-road trails: Kestrel Pass, Vermillion Mesa, Ochre Narrows, Sable Dunes, Coyote Wash, Whiteout Ridge, Saddleback Highline, Mosswater Bayou, Ember Canopy and Hoodoo Rim. Alpine switchbacks, red-rock mesas, sand dunes, a dry wash, snow timber, swamp crossings, a smoking volcanic rainforest and a hoodoo canyon rim.
• 5 expert rock crawling parks: Cathedral of Stone, The Enchantments, Slickrock Sand Park, Katla Caldera Rift with its ice cave, and the Moon at half gravity.
• Deer, elk, jackrabbits and ravens share the trails.
THE CAREER
• Start with a pickup and $750. Earn permit stamps from Open up to Class 1 to unlock harder country.
• Chase Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, and run-card challenges: stay in 2WD, leave after dark, finish with a quarter tank, never use Recover.
• Take Dispatch recovery jobs in the 6x6 tow truck: free stuck and tipped trucks at 38 sites across the county and its trails.
• Manage fuel or charge, wear and repairs. A wreck costs you a tow.
• 30 achievements.
