Remote Sound turns your phone into a simple sound remote for your computer. Lower the volume or mute sound while enjoying music or videos, without getting up. Main features • Adjust actual system volume • Mute and unmute sound • Check the current volume and connection status • Set a sleep timer that mutes your computer when time is up • Automatically reconnect to a paired computer • Remove pairing from either device Simple pairing Scan the QR code displayed by the desktop companion app, then approve the connection on your computer. Communication between the devices is protected with TLS encryption. A clean, focused interface Volume and mute controls are available on one main screen. Tap the moon button to open the sleep-timer settings. Three supported languages Choose Korean, English, or Japanese. The app follows your device language by default, and you can select a language in settings. Getting started 1. Install and launch the Remote Sound desktop companion app on your Mac. 2. Connect your Mac and iPhone to the same local network. 3. Click the remote-control icon in the Mac menu bar and open iPhone pairing. 4. Scan the QR code with the iPhone app and approve the connection on your Mac. 5. Control volume and mute from your phone. Compatibility and requirements • Requires an iPhone running iOS 17 or later and a Mac running macOS 14 or later. • The desktop companion app must be installed separately. • Your Mac must be awake and the companion app must be running during remote control. • Camera permission is required to scan the QR code. Local network permission is required to connect the devices. • Some external audio output devices do not support system volume or mute control. • Remote Sound controls system volume, not the volume of individual apps. • Remote control over the internet is not supported.
