Apple's Video Toolbox upscaler sharpens video live, or enhances a whole film offline and saves it. Bend the screen with your hands, dim or brighten it, watch lying down. Skytela Player is a spatial video player built for Apple Vision Pro. Put the screen on a wall, on the ceiling, or anywhere that feels right — then lie back and watch. Everything is driven by your hands: no controller, no remote, no menu digging. ■ HANDS-ONLY CONTROL, BUILT FOR LYING DOWN Look at the screen and pinch-drag to move it anywhere. Two hands do the rest: • Pinch and spread — resize it, from a small floating window to a wall-sized cinema. • Move both hands up or down — raise or lower the screen, so the picture always meets your eyes at the right angle, whether you are sitting upright or lying flat. • Push or pull both hands — bend the screen. Curvature is adjustable from flat to 180°, so a viewer lying down can wrap the picture around their field of view and the edges stop distorting. Every gesture has a dead zone, an axis lock and an on-screen readout, so a small unintended movement never jumps the video. Position and angle are remembered — next time it is exactly where you left it. In Immersive mode, press and hold the Digital Crown to bring the screen straight back to the centre of your view. The control rail on the left folds towards you like the page of a book; glance up and it is right there, no reaching required. ■ APPLE SUPER RESOLUTION — REAL UPSCALING, NOT A FILTER Skytela drives Apple's own video upscaler from Video Toolbox: VTFrameProcessor with the low-latency super resolution scaler, the same system framework Apple ships in visionOS 26. Sources below 1080p are upscaled on the fly, so old discs, phone clips and low-bitrate downloads look visibly cleaner and sharper. Live mode runs inside a 50 ms per-frame budget and falls back automatically if a frame would overrun, so playback never stutters. Requires visionOS 26 or later; on earlier systems a high-quality Lanczos resampler is used instead. ■ OFFLINE ENHANCE — ENHANCE ONCE, WATCH MANY TIMES For the best possible result, enhance a whole film in the background and save it as a new HEVC file. Every frame goes through the upscaler, the original audio track is passed through untouched and lossless, and the finished video is written to your Files app. Open it and it plays back with no real-time cost at all — ideal for a long movie. Progress is shown live and you can cancel at any time. ■ TUNE THE PICTURE TO THE ROOM A single slider now covers both directions: drag left to dim the picture for a dark room, drag right to brighten it when the room is lit. The title of the video now playing floats above the screen wherever the curve puts it; tap the info button beside it for the full details — location, format, size, duration, resolution, codec, audio tracks, subtitles and more. ■ PLAYBACK THAT SIMPLY WORKS MP4, MOV, M4V and HLS streams are supported, plus MKV, AVI, RMVB, FLV, WMV, TS and WebM through the built-in decoder. Scrubbing, volume and playback speed are always within reach, with clear colour cues for play and pause. Tap once to bring up the controls; they fade out after 10 seconds of inactivity and any tap restarts the timer. When no video is loaded, the controls and the progress bar stay on screen. ■ SUBTITLES External SRT, ASS/SSA and VTT subtitle files are supported, with adjustable size, position and time offset. ■ YOUR LIBRARY Import videos straight from the Files app, or play direct links on your local network and movies stored on a NAS. ■ IMMERSIVE SPACE One tap enters Immersive mode, dimming your surroundings until only the picture is left. Skytela Player collects no data at all — no account, no sign-in, no tracking.
