Spoken Korean often doesn't sound the way it's spelled. 감사합니다 ("thank you") is spelled with 합 (hap) but said with 함 (ham): gam-sa-ham-ni-da. Hansori helps you hear sound changes like this in everyday phrases, then say them back. SOUND CARDS: LISTEN FIRST, THEN SEE • Hear a phrase at natural speed with no text on screen, then pick what you heard. • See the spelling, the sound spelling (how it's said, in Hangul), the romanization, and the meaning. • Compare a slow, syllable-by-syllable "spelling" reading with the "natural" audio. • See why: some cards show the same sound change across several phrases; others animate the spelling turning into the sound. • Say it on the spot, then hear it in example sentences and bookmark the ones you want. PRACTICE MODES • Spell: listen, then tap syllable tiles in order to build the correct spelling. Sound-alike traps are mixed in. • Loop: 3, 5, 10, or 15 minutes. On some turns you repeat what you hear; on others you hear only the English and say it in Korean. • Today's review: when phrases are due, a short review (up to 8 cards) opens once a day. • Shadowing timer: set it for up to 60 minutes. On iPhone, the countdown also shows on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. SPEAKING FEEDBACK Say a phrase out loud to get a three-level badge and see what was heard. Shadowing a saved phrase also shows which words matched. It's a word-by-word check with Apple's speech recognition, not an accent analysis, and it needs an internet connection plus microphone and speech recognition access.
