Metadata Lab lets you inspect, edit and compare photo and media metadata on your Mac. From camera information and copyright details to dates and GPS coordinates, see what your files contain and manage it in one place. COMPARE FILES SIDE BY SIDE Compare metadata from two or more files in a horizontally scrolling view, with image previews to help you identify each file. Show matching values or differences, search for specific tags, and edit supported fields directly in the comparison window. Add missing writable values using text fields, menus and date controls. EDIT WITH CONFIDENCE Browse metadata organised into groups such as EXIF, IPTC, XMP, MakerNotes and Composite. Update supported tags, add information or remove unwanted metadata. Edited values can be highlighted so you can easily review your changes before saving. WORK WITH MULTIPLE FILES Drag in files or folders, or select images from your Photos library. Work in one window with a thumbnail browser or open files in separate windows. Apply metadata changes across multiple files, copy metadata between files, and create or apply reusable templates. MANAGE DATES AND LOCATIONS Adjust dates using a calendar and clock, set available metadata dates together, or use the file’s original creation date. View GPS information on a map and update coordinates using location search or the map controls. CONTROL HOW YOU SAVE Save alongside your source files or choose a destination folder. Optional backups help preserve your originals, while file-date preservation and Finder reveal options fit your workflow. MADE FOR YOUR MAC Choose a light, dark or system appearance. Resize the browsing and preview panes, search metadata, and customise your workspace. File metadata is processed locally on your Mac. Map features use Apple Maps. Available metadata and editing support vary by file format and tag. Some technical and calculated values are read-only.
