DeckWatch is the work planner and record keeper for ship's deck officers, built by a serving Chief Officer for life on board: port calls, PSC, cargo, watchkeeping and the passage in between. Everything works offline at sea. PASSAGE AND NAVIGATION • Passage Plan: waypoints in stages, speeds, ETAs and clock changes; RTZ in and out for the ECDIS; KML, GPX and GeoJSON out • Suggested routes clear of land and shallows, down the traffic separation lanes, out of river ports by the water, with via points: pilot stations, anchorages, positions • Chart: ECAs and other fuel rules, MARPOL special areas, scrubber discharge bans, load line zones, reporting systems, NAVTEX stations, pilot stations and anchorages, navigational warnings in force (exported for the ECDIS), weather and currents along the route • Dynamic UKC per waypoint, with CATZOC and squat • Distances between ports and positions, with the canals and without • ETA calculator, radar plot (CPA/TCPA and a trial manoeuvre), wheel-over, true wind • Anchoring: how much cable, the swing circle and the anchor watch NOON REPORTS • The noon book: positions, distances, speeds, fuel and fresh water by grade and consumer, worked out from the last noon, the passage and the voyage • Noon Prep for the watch, and your own report templates sent as messages • DCS and MRV figures for the year INSPECTIONS AND AUDITS • PSC by regime, audits and vetting: deficiencies and findings, actions and rectify-by dates, each made a defect in a tap • Audits due by the ISM Code and the certificates' windows • PSC and RightShip checklists, and your ship's own inspections with remarks, photos and history WORK PLAN AND RECORDS • Work plan: routine jobs with steps, any interval, running hours (radar magnetrons) and reminders • One calendar for jobs, certificates, surveys, drills, defects and stock expiries • Import your certificates, jobs, drills and past inspections from your own Excel, by matching the columns • Garbage and Ballast Water Record Books, in UTC with positions; PDF and Excel as the books' pages; corrections kept, never deleted • Rest hours checked against STCW and MLC as you log them • Drills: the programme, a drill timer with every step stamped, and BA wearers' air counted down • Statement of Facts with daily and final reports • Certificates with expiry warnings; defects that become jobs • Handover: standing and night orders, acknowledged CARGO AND DECK • Dewpoint and ventilation, cargo hold gas readings, paint log • Enclosed space operations: people, readings, checks due and late • IMSBC cargo reference, stowage and securing checklists, mooring line register • Company forms filled from your records POCKET GUIDES COLREG lights and sounds, IALA buoyage, GMDSS (with DSC test stations), LSA and FFE, emergencies, enclosed spaces, MARPOL, ship security, weather, seamanship and more, each with drawings and a quiz. Sign in (email, Google or Apple) to back up your records and share a vessel with your crew: Owner, Master, Chief Officer, Officer or Viewer, with the owner deciding who can change what, and who wrote what kept on every record. Delete your account and your cloud data at any time in the app. No ads. Your data is never sold. DeckWatch is a planning and record-keeping aid.
