Oulak: Slow Messaging
Bird Messages, Long Distance
Only for iPhone

iPhone
Write a message and dress your bird. It flies the real distance to someone you know and lands in the outfit you chose. The bird is part of the message.
Write a message. A bird carries it the real distance to someone you know. Watch it fly, then wait for it to land.
The bird is part of the message. It wears the outfit you chose, and that is the first thing your friend sees when it lands. Dress it, name it, send it.
Oulak is slow messaging for the people who live far away. A message across town lands in minutes. A message across a country takes an afternoon. Nothing is instant, and that is the point.
HOW A MESSAGE TRAVELS
Choose a bird and write your message. Every bird has its own speed, carries a different amount of text and waits a different time for an answer.
Watch it fly on a live map. The flight time comes from the real distance between you, and birds fly a little slower at night.
It lands and waits. Your friend opens the message once the bird has arrived.
Answer in time and the bird carries your reply home.
ELEVEN BIRDS, EACH WITH A WARDROBE
Pigeon, sparrow, owl, eagle, albatross, seagull, stork, crow, vulture, turtle dove and toucan. Give each one a name and dress it from the wardrobe: scarves, sunglasses, caps, bags, crowns, coats, boots, traditional costumes and an outfit that belongs to that bird alone. Pigeon, sparrow and owl are free.
FOR YOUR PEOPLE
Write to friends, family and partners who live far away. You only write to people you add yourself, by username or invite. No strangers, no photos, text only.
Sign in with Apple. You can block people, report messages and delete your account inside the app.
Oulak asks for your location only to work out how far each bird has to fly. Other people see your city, your area, the distance and, on the flight map, a point rounded to about 10 km. Never your exact location.
OULAK PREMIUM
Sending messages is free with three birds. Premium is an optional subscription, monthly or yearly, with family plans through Apple Family Sharing.
Eight more birds, some of which wait longer for your reply
Premium wardrobe pieces and an exclusive outfit for every bird
See birds on their way to you, with an alert
Call a bird back before it lands

Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. The price and length are shown in the app before you subscribe. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in Settings, then Apple Account, then Subscriptions. A free trial, where offered, becomes a paid subscription at its end unless you cancel.
