In Birdie you stand on the driving range while the timing needle swings back and forth – tap at the right moment and the ball flies straight onto the target green. Every shot earns money and experience for the club in your hand. The more you practise, the more accurate it gets.
But the real progress happens in tournaments: shot by shot against a full field, risky or safe, wind and water, nervy putts. A win opens the next course – and new clubs.
