A map tells you where to go. That's the Way makes you figure it out. Pick a place nearby, put the map away, and find it with a compass and your wits. A map tells you where to go. That's the Way makes you figure it out. Pick somewhere nearby - a statue, a church, a fountain, a bridge - and put the map away. There isn't one. You get a compass, a clue and your own sense of direction. Walk, look up, read the streets. When you're within a few metres: that's the way. FOUR WAYS TO PLAY • Needle - the needle and distance stay on screen. Learn the compass. • 3 readings - one free look, then you're on your own. Three readings and three hints to spend. • Distance - always how far, never which way. • Hot/cold - no numbers at all. Just warmer, or not that way. THE WAYWARD SCORE Speed doesn't count. Walk efficiently, use fewer readings and hints, don't wander off - and beat your best. CITY MAPS In covered cities the game knows the real streets: it scores you against the shortest walk and notices when you've gone astray. Everywhere else, places come from Apple Maps. MAKE AND SHARE CHALLENGES Stand somewhere, make it a destination, drop clues as you walk back - then send it to a friend. They get the place, your score, and no map. FEEL YOUR WAY A click when you face the right way, a heartbeat that quickens as you close in, and optional spoken clues so the phone can stay in your pocket. NO ACCOUNTS, NO TRACKING Your location stays on your phone. No sign-up, no ads, no analytics. Please watch where you're going - look up, not at your phone, and stick to lit, busy streets after dark. Clues from the real streets, a challenge for everyone each day, and a photo to prove you found it. • Today's challenge - one place for everyone in the city each day, from wherever you start. • Clues from the map - in London, Tokyo, Osaka and Biggleswade every walk tells you what the shortest way crosses or follows, and which landmarks you pass. • Search - set any place or address as your target. • Two harder modes - 1 reading, and Clues only. • Photo card - take a photo where you arrive and share it with your score. • History - tap any walk to see how it went, the route you took, and your photo. • After dark, Surprise me skips parks and open spaces.
