Your audiobooks, your server, your car. Offline downloads, series in order, and CarPlay built for long drives. Woodshelf is an iPhone app for the Audiobookshelf server you already run. It is built around how people actually listen to audiobooks: long books, long series, long drives, and patchy signal in between. OFFLINE FIRST Download whole books, or let Woodshelf quietly cache the rest of the one you are streaming. Playback and progress keep working with no signal and sync back to your server when it returns. SERIES THAT STAY IN ORDER Every book shows its place in its series. Follow a series and the next unfinished book appears in Up Next; finish one and the next starts after a short pause. CARPLAY FOR THE DRIVE The book you were in the middle of is the first thing on the screen, as a cover you can tap. Behind it: the next book in each series, everything downloaded to the phone, and your whole library with a letter index. Now Playing has speed, chapters and a sleep timer, so nothing needs the phone. LISTENING DETAILS DONE PROPERLY Smart rewind steps back further the longer you were paused. The sleep timer fades out and can end at the chapter; shake to add fifteen minutes. Bookmarks, per-book listening history, playback speed remembered per book. STATS AND BADGES Hours, books, streaks and a yearly goal, matched to the web client so both tell the same story. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Woodshelf talks only to your own server. No account with us, no analytics, no advertising. Requires an Audiobookshelf server (free, open source) and an account on it. Woodshelf does not sell or host audiobooks and is not affiliated with the Audiobookshelf project.
