When one star per row gets too easy, switch to two. Both rule sets in one app, seven boards from 5x5 to 12x12, undo and marks on every board, and no connection needed. Star Regions is a single-player logic puzzle for iPhone and iPad with two rule sets in one app: one or two stars in every row, column and colored region, and no two stars may touch, not even diagonally. Everything runs on the device. TO SEE THE TWO-STAR MODE (about 30 seconds) The app opens straight onto a small 5x5 one-star puzzle, the rule set many puzzle apps use today. 1. Tap the size chip at the top left ("1 star, 5x5"). 2. Tap "Two stars", then 10x10 (confirm "New puzzle" if the current board already has marks). This is the board on our first screenshot: two stars in every row, column and region, the classic form of the genre known to puzzle solvers as Star Battle. Sizes: one-star on 5x5, 7x7, 9x9 and 11x11; two-star on 9x9, 10x10 and 12x12, all with the same controls. What we deliberately built differently from typical apps in this genre: - All seven sizes and both rule sets are open from the first launch. No levels to unlock, no lives, no energy, no waiting. - Unlimited Undo; manual X marks plus optional Auto-X dots showing where a star can no longer go; a Hint button that points at mistakes or places one correct star. - A fixed, curated collection of 1,000 puzzles per size, produced by our own generator, each checked to have exactly one solution and graded so difficulty rises with board size. The deal order is shuffled per device, so puzzles do not repeat. - Original visual design: a faceted star piece, our own 12-color region palette for light and dark mode, region borders always drawn, and an optional bold-outline mode for low vision and color-vision differences. - VoiceOver labels on every cell, Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion, and iPad support in every orientation. DEVICES TESTED Tested on iOS 26.5 and iOS 27.0 across the full range of supported screen sizes, from iPhone SE (3rd generation) up to iPhone 17 Pro, and on iPad Pro 13-inch. HOW TO REVIEW No account, login or demo data is needed, and there are no purchases or subscriptions; every feature is available immediately. Tap a cell once for an X mark, twice for a star, a third time to clear it. Undo, Auto-X and Hint are in the bottom bar. The three-dot menu at the top right has New puzzle, Start over, How to play and Settings. The size chip at the top left opens the board-size picker with progress per size. The app requests no permissions, so no permission dialog will appear. EXTERNAL SERVICES None. The app has no networking code and no third-party SDKs: no analytics, advertising or crash reporting. All puzzles ship inside the app. The only external links are Privacy Policy and Support in Settings, which open in Safari. REGIONS The app and its content are the same in every storefront. It is localized into English, German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian and follows the device language. REGULATED CONTENT AND THIRD-PARTY MATERIAL Not applicable. This is a general puzzle game in no regulated category. Placing stars in a grid divided into regions is a long-standing public puzzle format; the app name, code, puzzles, artwork, icon and texts are our own work. No licensed or user-generated content.
