BB Clicker is a practice app for drummers. Add your own songs, take the drums out, and play the part yourself, with a click that follows the song beat for beat.
SPLIT YOUR SONGS
Separate any song into drums, bass, vocals and everything else, right on your device. One tap for No drums, No vocals, Rhythm section (drums and bass), Drums only or Bass only, or set every part yourself while the song plays.
A CLICK THAT FOLLOWS THE SONG
Every song gets a beat map when you add it, so the click lands on the real beat, even when the band speeds up or slows down. Accent on bar one, subdivisions if you want them. Half or double tempo, move bar one, nudge the offset, or tap along to fix odd meters.
DRUM CHART
BB Clicker writes out the drum part as notation: kick, snare, hi-hat, toms and cymbals, bar by bar on the beat grid. It follows the song as it plays, you tap a bar to jump there, and you can save it as a PDF. Best on an iPad on your music stand. It is a first draft written from the recording; check fills and ghost notes by ear.
SLOW IT DOWN, LOOP IT
Play at 50 to 125 percent speed without changing the pitch. Loop a section that snaps to whole bars, and let the speed trainer raise the tempo a little every time round until you are at full speed.

YOUR LIBRARY, ON ALL YOUR DEVICES
Add songs from Files or from your own music server, or record one from your own CD player or other audio source: plug it into the USB-C port with an audio adapter, press play, and BB Clicker records it in stereo, then splits it and writes the chart like any other song. Without a cable it can also record from the microphone, though the sound is muddier. With iCloud, songs you have split appear on your other devices with the same Apple Account: split once on your fastest one, practise anywhere.

BB Clicker is free: the metronome, the song player, the beat-locked click, loops and the speed trainer, with no time limit. Splitting and recording from audio in are free as a 30-second preview. Full Unlock, a one-time purchase, splits and records whole songs and writes out full drum charts. No subscription, and it is shared with your family.
Works with music files you own (MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF, FLAC). Songs from streaming services are copy-protected and cannot be added.
CREDITS
Song splitting uses Demucs by Simon Rouard, Francisco Massa and Alexandre Défossez (Meta AI, MIT licence). The drum chart's hit recogniser was trained on the Groove MIDI Dataset by Jon Gillick, Adam Roberts, Jesse Engel, Mikhail Tal and Ian Simon (Google Magenta, CC BY 4.0). Extra hi-hats come from a second model trained on the Expanded Groove MIDI Dataset (E-GMD) by Lee Callender, Curtis Hawthorne and Jesse Engel (Google Magenta, CC BY 4.0). New: Record from audio in. Songs tab, + menu: plug your CD player or other audio source into the USB-C port with an audio adapter, press play and record in stereo: 30 seconds free, or whole songs up to 12 minutes with Full Unlock. It is then analysed, split into drums, bass, vocals and the rest, and given a drum chart, just like a song from Files. The microphone works too if you hold the phone to a speaker, but a cable gives much cleaner results. Recordings stay on your device.
