That 2 a.m. SMS to your ex/boss/parents—not yet. Write it, seal it with wax, open it in 12 hours and see if you still want to send it. Encrypted behind its own passcode.
That message? Not yet.
It's 2 a.m. and you want to text your ex, fire back at your boss, say the unsayable to your parents. Midnight Drafts gives you a place to write it down and seal it — then open it in 12 hours, tomorrow, or in a year, and see whether you still want to send it.
Most people burn it.
■ Write it, seal it
· Say everything. No one can see it
· Pick a cooling-off time: 12 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, or any date
· Pour a drop of wax and press your seal — sealed notes can't be edited or opened early; you'll be notified when they're ready
■ When you open it, four choices
· Burn it: embers drift away, the text is gone for good
· Reseal it: not sure yet? Wait a little longer
· Add a line: what you'd say now, without changing the original
· Send it anyway: copy it and go — this time with a clear head
■ Wax seals
· 18 original crests plus seasonal specials, unlocked the more notes you hold back
· 10 wax colours including gold, silver, champagne and bronze metallics
· Make a seal from your own photo
■ Time capsules
· Write to yourself a year from now, to your child, to a future partner
· Notified when it opens; locked until then
■ Mood
· How you felt when writing vs. when opening, on a timeline
· Add your own moods
· Share the mood change as an image — without a word of the note
■ Share and send (optional; nothing happens unless you choose)
· Share a few lines: pick the sentences you're willing to show from an opened note; they become an image with your wax seal that you post wherever you like
· Send to someone: pack a note into an encrypted file and send it over any messenger, AirDrop or email; the recipient needs your passphrase to read it, and you can ask them to wait too
■ Genuinely private
· A 6-digit app passcode separate from your phone passcode, with lockout on repeated failures; Face ID / Touch ID optional
· Any note can carry its own reading password
· Everything is encrypted with a device key and stored on the device only; no account, no server, no ads, no analytics
· Notifications never show content
Available in English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
