Speak a thought, tidy the text and paste it into your work.
DICTATIONS
Use a global shortcut to start and stop dictation from another app. A small pulsing status icon can expand to show live text. Finished dictations can copy automatically when the clipboard has not changed during processing. Review the result, choose a cleanup style and paste when ready. The status panel dismisses after completion.
MEETINGS
Save your microphone audio and independently attempt application or system-audio capture. Review retained sources and copy each new section into your copilot without repeating a previously saved section. A configurable section shortcut works while a meeting is active. Meetings do not replace your clipboard automatically.
YOUR NOTES, WITH THEIR SOURCES
Create a meeting brief with summaries, decisions and suggested actions, each with a supporting transcript quote. Mark actions complete, save bookmarks, and use transcript timestamps to revisit retained audio. Generated notes are drafts: review them against the original.
FIND AND REUSE YOUR WORK
Search titles, text and tags. Browse topics and clients or companies, open their saved context pages, and copy a cited briefing into another app. Use favourites, preferred spellings and company aliases. Edit a transcript while preserving its original, and export text or Markdown notes.
LOCAL PROCESSING
Speech recognition runs on your device. Text cleanup and other text features use Apple Intelligence or an optional downloadable local text model on compatible devices. Downloaded models use Apple’s asset delivery, require storage and a device check, and can be removed separately from your library. Recordings and text are not sent to a remote AI provider.
YOUR LIBRARY
Keep original audio alongside the original and edited text. Optional iCloud sync connects your own devices, with audio downloaded when requested. Recently Deleted supports restore and permanent deletion. Update Chitchat on all syncing devices to use the latest library features.
Requires macOS 26 or later. Speech and model availability vary by hardware, language and region. Apple Intelligence requires compatible hardware, enabled settings and downloaded system models. Optional downloaded models have additional memory and storage requirements. System audio requires the relevant macOS permission. Meeting capture starts manually.
