A hundred calm puzzles across ten worlds of cloth, tile and pottery craft from Pakistan, in South Asia. No accounts, no timers. Nani left you five unfinished cloths from Pakistan, in South Asia. Each remembers where it came from. Turn the rings, and it will show you. When the quilt is folded, a second bundle waits in its binding. Rung Rings is a calm puzzle game about colour and pattern. Every level is a scrambled medallion of concentric rings. Drag or flick the rings until the pattern lines up and the cloth settles. No timers, no lives, no pressure. You can get stuck, but you never lose progress, and a retry is one tap away. TEN WORLDS, TEN CRAFTS Each world borrows its colours and its rule from a living craft of Pakistan, in South Asia, and credits the people who make it. PAKISTAN, IN SOUTH ASIA - Sindh Dawn: ajrak, the indigo and madder block-printed cloth of Sindh, a province in southeastern Pakistan. Set the slipped blocks square. - Cholistan Nights: chunri, tie-dye from Sindh and from Bahawalpur, by the Cholistan desert of southern Punjab. Every white dot was once a knot. Pull a knot and both neighbours turn with it. - Punjab Garden: phulkari, flower-work embroidery of the Punjab, a region shared by Pakistan and India. Count the threads: every stitch is a whole step. - Thar Mirrors: mirror work and ralli quilts, made by the craftswomen of Tharparkar, in the Thar desert of southeastern Pakistan. A dull mirror wakes only when light reaches it from its neighbour. - Highway Bazaar: truck art, painted by the artists of Karachi and Rawalpindi, two cities of Pakistan. Painted wheels mesh, so no ring turns alone. - Lahore Lattice: the tilework and strapwork of Lahore's Walled City, in the capital of Pakistan's Punjab province. A laid strap holds the ring beneath it. Lift the strap first. - Multan Blue: blue pottery, glazed and fired by the kashigars of Multan, a city in southern Punjab, and of Hala in Sindh. Chevrons mark a ring that turns one way. To go back, go the long way round. - Hala Loom: susi and khes, striped and checked cloth woven on pit looms by the weavers of Hala, Hyderabad and Thatta in Sindh, and of Multan and Bahawalpur in Punjab. A ring with a selvedge stops at its edge, as the weft turns back there. - Balochistan Stars: Balochi needlework, stitched by the women of Balochistan, a province in southwestern Pakistan. There are no gold marks to line up: turn each ring until the light passes through it. - Swat Valley: Swati embroidery, stitched by the women of the Swat Valley, in the mountains of northern Pakistan. Pull a sampler ring and its copy, two rings away, follows; the ring between turns alone. Each level carries a short fact about its craft, and the Bundle's Places page says where each place is. WHAT YOU GET - 100 hand-tuned levels in 10 worlds, from a gentle first turn to a six-ring finale - A Countries screen: Pakistan first, with more countries to come - A short tutorial for every new rule, replayable in Settings - Stars for the fewest moves, a score out of 1000, and a swatch of every cloth to keep or share - Optional hints, from a nudge to a full reveal, paid in spools you earn by playing - Undo, free and unlimited - Soft sound and gentle haptics, easy to switch off - Story pages, and the Bundle of craft facts you unlock - Works on iPhone and iPhone Duo; any orientation - Respects Reduce Motion and the silent switch QUIET BY DESIGN No accounts. No timers. Rung Rings collects no personal data and never connects to the internet by itself. Your progress stays on your device, and if you are signed in to iCloud it follows you to a new phone through Apple's own iCloud storage, private to you. Rung (also spelled rang) means colour, and the dyer who gives it is a rangrez. Turn the rings, and make the colour true. Rung Rings is designed and built by Hamza Ahmed. Version 3.3 makes the end of every world gentler. The last four cloths of each world have been re-cut with shorter solutions and fewer rules at once, and each world's final cloth most of all: none now needs more than eight moves. The climb is still there, one step at a time. Today's cloth is gentler too. Every star, point and perfect weave you have earned stays exactly as it is, and a replay of a re-cut cloth can only add to it.
