Ajar keeps you company while you work or read: a window standing beside you on the desk, with rain falling on a quiet street outside.
There's nothing to set and nothing to count. No timers, no streaks, no instructions. Get on with your day, look up now and then, and it's still raining.
EIGHT WINDOWS
Each one is a whole window: the view, the glass, the frame, the sill and the sound all belong to it. Each keeps your own time of day, from morning light to the middle of the night.
• Rainy Street: Victorian brick terraces in the rain, from an upstairs sash window. Free, and complete.
• Snowy Cabin: snow falling on the pines, through the frosted pane of a log cabin.
• Night Train: fields and towns passing in the dark, from a sleeper's window.
• Seaside Afternoon: a sandy bay through blue louvred shutters, waves running up the sand all afternoon.
• Summer Night: rice paddies, a bamboo grove, fireflies and the Milky Way, through a green fly screen.
• Shoji: bamboo shadows on paper, drawn aside onto a moss garden and a stone lantern.
• Garden Window: a Suzhou garden in spring, framed by the open windows of a white wall, each a different shape.
• Window Seat: a sea of cloud below the wing, at cruising height.
THE WINDOW OPENS WITH YOU
Ajar is made for the hinge of iPhone Duo: how far you open the device is how far the window opens. Closed, the outside is muffled, as if through glass. Open it and the sound and the air come in: the sash lifts, the shutters swing back, the shoji part, the train's window drops. However you set it down, it's a finished picture: standing half-folded with the sill on the desk, open like a book, or flat as one big window. Leave it standing open and the screen stays on.
On any other iPhone, tap the window to open it.
A WALL OF WINDOWS
Swipe to walk from one window to the next. Touch and hold a window to bring up its time of day: drag through the hours, or step back into a gallery of every window, all of them alive.
ONE KEY
Rainy Street is free, whole and never locked. A single purchase opens every other window, and every window added later. No subscription, and it's shared with your family. Until then, each locked window opens for real for three minutes, so you can stand at it before you decide.
QUIET BY DESIGN
No account, no ads, no tracking. It plays along with your own music or podcasts.
