Tap. KAN! The block flies out and the heel drops. Eight customers, one hammer and a foot you really should not hit. A woman walks into a tiny shoe repair shop in Tokyo. Her heels are absurdly tall. You have a hammer. Kakato is a one-tap timing game built on the old Japanese daruma otoshi toy. Her heel is a stack of blocks. Tap to swing and knock them out one by one, without touching her foot. HOW IT PLAYS • Hit a block dead in the middle: it shoots out with a clean KAN! and the heel drops a step. • Clip an edge and the block twists out of line. Her foot starts trembling and your fee starts shrinking. • Knock it straight again from the other edge. Knock out a different block while one is crooked and down she goes. • Swing too high and you hit her foot. She will not be pleased. WHAT'S INSIDE • 8 customers, 8 pairs of shoes: a black strappy sandal, red patent pumps, Mary Janes with lace socks, cognac booties, gold sandals and a final customer in a kimono. • Manga line art drawn live on the GPU at 120 fps. • Every sound is synthesized in real time: steel on wood, clattering blocks, koto strings that climb with your streak. • Time bonus for speed, perfect bonus for clean work. Chase a better record. • Plays offline. No account. No ads. A love letter to the strange little Japanese Flash games of the early 2000s, rebuilt for one thumb.
