Now on iPad too. Daily reminders at the time you choose, voice messages both ways, and a clear answer when your parent asks: is this a scam? HelpMom lets you help a parent or relative with the things at home that confuse them: the TV, the router, the washing machine, a strange text message or a letter from the bank. They press one big button. You see what their phone camera sees and show them what to do. FOR THE PERSON WHO GETS HELP • One big button: "Call Anna". Nothing else to learn. • "Is this for real?" A strange text, e-mail, letter or call? Send a screenshot or a photo and get a clear answer on the screen: "It is a scam – do nothing" or "It looks fine". • Not urgent? Ask to be called back when it suits. • Magnifier: read the small print on a medicine label or a letter, with the phone's light. • Large text and clear pictures. No account, no password, no settings to get wrong. FOR THE HELPER • See their camera live, on your phone or computer. • Freeze the picture and draw on it: circle the right button, point with an arrow, number the steps. • Send large text that appears on their screen. • Switch on their flashlight, zoom, or change between front and back camera from your side. • Ask for a screenshot to see what is on their phone's own screen. • See how loud their phone is and how much battery it has, and change their text size or language for them. • Rewind the last 30 seconds if something went by too fast. • Save the steps as a guide they can open again on their own. • Record a short film that shows how it is done. Stop it where it matters and draw on the picture. • Answer "Is this for real?" with one tap. The answer appears big on their phone, also as a notification. • Leave notes and reminders, such as the wifi password, that arrive as soon as their app is open. • Keep a list of their appliances with model and manual, so next time goes faster. • Brothers and sisters can help the same person and share their guides. RINGS LIKE A NORMAL CALL The phone rings even when HelpMom is closed and the screen is locked. Either of you can call the other. If the wifi drops during a call, it reconnects by itself. A missed call is shown afterwards. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • You pair phones once, with a nine-digit code or a QR code. Only paired phones can ever call each other. • Picture, sound and the pictures you send travel encrypted, directly between the phones. They do not pass through our server. • Calls are not recorded. A film the helper chooses to record is kept only on your phones. • Notifications carry only a short fixed sentence, never names or pictures. • No account, no advertising, no tracking. • Guides, notes and the call log are stored on your own phones. WORKS ACROSS PHONES HelpMom works between different kinds of phones, and the helper can also use a computer at helpmom.app. Languages: English, Swedish, German, Spanish and French. The side for the person who gets help is also in Norwegian and Danish.
