DICOM Viewer opens DICOM (.dcm) files on your iPhone. Parsing, pixel decoding and
rendering all happen on the device. The app has no backend, requests no network
access, and never uploads or collects anything. What you import stays in the app's
own sandbox until you delete it or delete the app.
WHAT IT DOES
• Import .dcm files or a whole folder from the Files app. Files are copied into the
app's sandbox and grouped into series automatically.
• Series grouping and slice ordering by SeriesInstanceUID and Instance Number.
• Window width / window level: drag to adjust, or set exact numbers. Invert and Reset.
• Zoom (0.5×–12×) and pan.
• Multi-frame files and multi-slice series, with a slider for longer series.
• Every data element is readable in the DICOM Tags view, including sequences.
• Export the image you are currently looking at as PNG.

Character sets: UTF-8 (ISO_IR 192), ISO 2022 (including IR 58 / GB18030), the Latin
repertories, plus undeclared legacy GBK content. Text written inside a DICOM file is
data — the app never translates patient names or series descriptions.
LANGUAGES
Interface in English and Simplified Chinese, following your system language. With any
unsupported system language the app falls back to English.
PRIVACY
No account. No ads. No analytics. No tracking. No third-party SDKs. No network
permission. The app only reads files you explicitly pick, and its own sandbox. Nothing
is sent anywhere, including crash reports from the app itself. Deleting a series, using
Delete all images, or uninstalling removes the data permanently — there is no server
that holds a copy, because there is no server.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
DICOM Viewer is not a medical device. It has no clearance, approval or certification
from any regulatory authority, including the FDA, NMPA, EMA or notified bodies.
Displayed images may differ from the original data because of decoding, display
calibration, and the window settings you choose. Exported PNG files are 8-bit display
images of the current window — they are not the original diagnostic data and carry no
calibration. Any diagnosis, treatment or clinical decision must be made by a qualified
professional from the original images and the official report. Do not rely on this app
for clinical purposes.
