No Ads, No Subscriptions, No Tracking.
Odin's Reversi is the classic game of turning the tables, played with Viking shields. One move can change the whole board, so no lead is safe until the last shield is down.
One price, the whole game. No in-app purchases, no third-party ads, and no tracking.
PLAY TOGETHER, YOUR WAY
Live online: challenge a friend and trade moves in real time.
Turn-based online: play at your own pace without being online together.
Nearby: connect device to device and play without a Game Center account.
Pass & Play: share one screen and take turns.
In a live or nearby rematch the sides swap, so nobody keeps the first move.
Online matches use Game Center. Turn notifications and a Home Screen widget show when you have moves waiting, and Siri can continue your game.
OPTIMIZED FOR IPHONE DUO
Open the phone and the board fills the inner display; close it and your game carries on, on the outer display, right where you were.
THREE BOARDS, ONE RULE
Place a shield so that a straight line of your opponent's shields — across, down, or on a diagonal — is closed at both ends by yours, and the whole line turns. If you can't place, you pass; when neither side can, the side with more shields wins.
Quick: six by six, a short game for the youngest players.
Classic: eight by eight, the board the whole world plays.
Grand: ten by ten, with room for long plans and corners worth fighting for.
SIX HOUSE RULES
Runestones: a few runestones are set on the board before play. Nothing lands on them, and no line runs through them.
World Serpent: the edges join, as the serpent circles the world, so lines wrap around and there are no corners.
Loki's Game: the fewest shields wins.
Norns' Opening: every game starts from a dealt, balanced opening.
Odin's Favor: give one side up to four corners before the first move.
Victorian Rules: the 1880s rules, with an empty center and a limited supply of shields.
They work in every mode, and a turn-based or nearby invitation names them before your friend accepts — the only way Odin's Favor reaches another device.
VIKING SHIELDS THAT TURN
Every piece is a Viking round shield, light on one face and dark on the other, and every shield carries its own design: ravens, wolves, dragons, longships and more. Pick a look in Settings: painted, realistic, Viking art, basic, or rune coins. Then choose your board: green leather, oak and iron, or engraved cherry.
FIND YOUR CHALLENGE
Play solo against four computer strengths: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert. The coach rings the move it would make and says when it leaves your opponent no move or hands them a corner. Undo lets you try again in local play, and the Video Instructions and How to Play teach every board.
MAKE YOUR PROGRESS COUNT
Earn XP, climb the ranks from Wanderer to Grand King, and pursue 22 achievements and 9 Game Center leaderboards. Bigger boards earn more.
Your games save as you play, and iCloud carries them to your other devices.
A PLACE AT THE BOARD
Green leather, oak and gold bring the Longhouse look of Odin's Checkers to Reversi: one purchase for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac, in 50 languages, with VoiceOver and Dynamic Type.
Made by the team behind Odin's Checkers, Squared², Odin's Tic-Tac-Toe, Odin's Viking Chess, and Odin's Drop 4+. The only promotions you'll see are for our own games.
Place a shield. Turn a line. Hold the corners.
Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
New: optimized for iPhone Duo.
• Open the phone and the board fills the inner display; close it and your game carries on, on the outer display, right where you were.
• Stand it partly open like a book: the board stays on the flat half and the scores on the standing one.
• Video Instructions gain an iPhone Duo chapter, played on a Duo.
Also in this version:
• The Video Instructions gain a new chapter after the opening film, Using the App: placing a shield, the game's controls, the menu and Settings.
• How to Play explains all three boards, not only the one you are playing; on Apple TV its long cards read a step at a time.
• No faded shield shows where yours would go any more: only an outline marks the cell you aim at.
• Odin's Favor now travels only in a turn-based or nearby invitation, which names it before your friend accepts — never in a Live Match.
• Fastest Expert Win takes a time only from a game without Runestones, Loki's Game or Norns' Opening, which shorten or change the race; such a win still counts and still earns Unaided.
• Restart and Play Again keep the coach as you set it, and Siri's Continue never replaces the game on screen.
• Online: rematch requests that cross start one game instead of leaving both players waiting, a finished match counts its XP once even after a relaunch, and when your account can't start a rematch, the message reads right for an opponent on a Mac or an Apple TV.
• Apple TV: the sign to pass the remote sits over the board, clear of the rail; More Games' code says where it leads; and the footer fits the rail.
• Mac: the menu opens in two columns with everything in view; the online hub says click and right-click; Undo and Restart wait while a lesson or a dialog is open, and Restart leaves a finished game's result on screen; Toggle Sound works off a game.
• On an iPhone Duo the nearby invitation sits on the board's half, and Settings rows wrap long names.
