Earshot turns a spare phone into a listener for your home. When it hears the smoke alarm, the doorbell or the dog, everyone in your household gets an alert on their phone, wherever they are. This is the app for your own phone: create your household, add a detector (the Earshot Detector app on an old phone left at home), choose the sounds it listens for, and get the alerts. Invite the people you live with, and everyone gets the alerts. HOW IT WORKS • Put the old phone where the sound happens: near the kitchen for the smoke alarm, in the hall for the doorbell. Plugged in, on Wi-Fi, screen off. • Choose what it listens for: smoke alarm, doorbell, dog barking, baby crying, glass breaking, knocking, car alarm, cat meowing, running water, microwave beep, or your own in a few words. • Set each sound's sensitivity, the times it listens, who gets it, and how: normal, urgent through Focus, or silent in the alerts list. • Get the alert within seconds, wherever you are. If a detector goes offline, you hear about that too. PRIVATE BY DESIGN The detector decides on the phone itself whether it heard one of your sounds. No audio ever leaves it. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. ONE SUBSCRIPTION FOR THE WHOLE HOUSEHOLD Earshot Household covers every member's alerts and detectors. Any member can subscribe; the others don't pay. Monthly or yearly, with a 14-day free trial for new subscribers. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the app or your Earshot account doesn't cancel it. AN EXTRA PAIR OF EARS, NOT A FIRE ALARM Earshot can miss a sound, and a phone can lose power or Wi-Fi. Keep your smoke alarms, and any monitored alarm service you have.
