Connect your Playdate to your Mac with a USB cable, and its screen appears in your space on Vision Pro: as big as you like, razor sharp, and with sound. Play with a game controller or the on-screen controls, including a crank dial that follows the real crank.
REQUIRES A PLAYDATE AND A MAC
Vision Pro can't connect to USB accessories, so Crankovox comes in two parts: a small Mac app that talks to your Playdate over USB, and the Vision Pro app that shows it. One free download includes both.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Open Crankovox on your Mac and plug in your Playdate.
2. Open Crankovox on your Vision Pro. It finds your Mac automatically over Wi-Fi.
3. Play.
FEATURES
• A big, sharp screen. Smooth Edges redraws the 400×240 display at full resolution, smoothing diagonal edges while keeping dithering and single pixels crisp. Prefer the original look? Pixel Perfect shows hard square pixels.
• Sound, streamed live from your Playdate.
• Game controller support. Turn the crank with the right stick, or use the triggers: the harder you press, the faster it turns.
• On-screen controls, with a virtual crank dial that follows the physical crank.
• Bluetooth keyboard support.
• Screen palettes: classic LCD tint, black and white, or inverted.
• The Mac app keeps streaming with its window closed and can open at login, so your Vision Pro can always find it.
• Private by design. Everything stays on your local network. No accounts, no analytics, and no data collected.
GOOD TO KNOW
• Quit Playdate Mirror before using Crankovox. Only one app can use the Playdate at a time.
• Your Mac and Vision Pro need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
• Pair your game controller to your Vision Pro, not your Mac.
• Crankovox uses the same USB streaming feature as Playdate Mirror, so a future Playdate system update could affect it.
