Your voice over the video: in the preview, Voice-over → Record voice, then talk or sing over the edit from any point, or redo just a piece. The music ducks under your voice; with headphones you hear it while recording. Shot speed: in the preview, speed a shot up 2×–8× or slow it to ½× or ⅓×. On iOS 26 the slow-down is smooth: the in-between frames are calculated on the phone. Camera: the volume buttons start and stop a shot. Exposure ±2 stops with the slider on the left; tap the viewfinder to focus and meter on that spot. Joining shots shows the outlines of the previous shot instead of a faded picture. Recipe from a link: a recipe made for you opens straight from its getcamjam.com/r/… link, or paste it in Settings → Recipe from a link. Drafts last up to 30 minutes and keep the shots' own sound. “Shot to Photos” saves the original recording.

Storyboard preview: tap ▶ next to a recipe (in the recipe list, the catalogue or when re-cutting) to watch its shot sketches play to the music, with camera moves and dissolves. "Not sure yet — show me an example" on first launch plays one too. Camera: "All shots ▾" in the hint opens the whole storyboard. While you record, the hint shrinks to one line and the shot strip fades out, so nothing covers the frame. Tap a filmed shot to see "Hold the shot to retake or delete". A one-time tip shows how to zoom: hold the red button and slide up. Match the next shot: when you retake a shot or fill a gap, tap the filmed shot after it — the camera shows the outlines of its first frame, so the end of your new take flows straight into it. Your own track: while the music plays, a line runs along the shot strip. Tapping a row of whole bars splits them in half; tap again to undo. Tracks in 7/8 or 11/8 get an open template instead of cuts off the beat. Recipes and projects show their date and can be sorted by date or name.

Your own track, new screen: Settings > Add your own track. Choose the video length (15 s, 30 s, 1 min, 2 min or the whole track), the cutting pace (smooth, on the beat or fast) and the ending (a loop for Stories and Reels, or a fade-out). Every shot now shows its framing: close-up, medium or wide. Smarter recipes: we measured how professionals cut, using thousands of film scenes and short-video templates. Short videos open with a close-up; videos of a minute or longer open like a film, showing where we are. No more jumps straight from a close-up to a wide shot, and shot hints always match the framing. "Track and structure": drag the frame along the waveform to pick the part of the song, put the main shot on the peak or right at the start, compare four story structures, try another version and listen to the loop seam. CamJam also tells you when a new version is out in the App Store.
