Cold Brew keeps your Mac awake with one click in the menu bar. Cold Brew keeps your Mac from falling asleep on you. Before a big download or a presentation, click the cup in your menu bar and turn on Brew Mode. Your screen stays on for as long as you need, and when the time's up, your Mac goes back to its usual sleep settings. It's meant to stay out of your way. Everything lives in one small panel under the cup, and there's nothing in your Dock. The cup fills up while Brew Mode is on, so you can tell at a glance. A few things it can do: • Remember the length you picked last time, so turning it on is one click • Set your own length down to the minute, or leave it on with no time limit • Add 15 minutes or an hour when you need a little longer • Show a countdown next to the cup, or turn the cup blue while it's on • Turn on and off with a keyboard shortcut, from any app • Keep your Mac awake but let the screen sleep, for long downloads and backups • Let you know when a session ends • Turn on when you plug in your MacBook, and off when you unplug it • Open when you log in, and start brewing right away if you'd like If you like automating things, coldbrew:// links work from Shortcuts or your own scripts. For example, coldbrew://start?hours=2 keeps your Mac awake for two hours. Under the hood, it uses the same macOS power assertion as the built-in caffeinate command. Quit Cold Brew and your Mac can sleep again, with nothing left running in the background. Cold Brew doesn't collect any data, and it never goes online. It works on macOS 14 and later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
